The Venerable Ambrosian Library is a universally recognized cultural excellence. A large number of Greek, Latin, vulgar and other Eastern languages codices were donated to the Library. Today its patrimony counts more than a million printed books, including 40,000 manuscripts, 2500 incunabula, 12,000 parchments and almost 12.000 drawings (by Rafael, Leonardo and many others). Among its many treasures is the unique Codex Atlanticus, the most complete collection of Leonardo da Vinci’s manuscripts.
